I am getting following while compiling - please point me if this is not the right forum...

error: http_core.h: No such file or directory

undeclared (first use in this function)
make[1]: *** [objs/addon/modsecurity/ngx_http_modsecurity.o] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/margb/pkg/nginx/nginx-1.3.9'
make: *** [build] Error 2

I was able to compile this without any trouble, but our website is nginx + phusion passenger with no backend server. Is it possible to configure mod_security with nginx without using it to proxy another web server?

Very sorry. Will do. You can remove my posts if you wish.

AJ - please use the ModSecurity users mail-list to discuss compiling issues:
http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/mod-security-users

Can you provide some more details on dependencies for compiling specifically for nginx? For example, downloading the latest RC3 tarball, and executing the configure command bombs-out:
configure: looking for Apache module support via DSO through APXS
configure: error: couldn't find APXS

I don't have Apache installed, nor do I want to use Apache (obviously, I'm using nginx). What do I need here, and why is it asking, because Apache will not be found on my Test/Prod servers anyway.

Thanks,
AJ
